Sanford S. Elberg Lecture in International
Studies
Established in 1987
by the Institute of International Studies in honor of Sanford S. Elberg,
Emeritus Professor of Medical Microbiology and Immunology and Emeritus Dean
of the Graduate Division, this lectureship was endowed with contributions
primarily from Dean Elberg's Berkeley colleagues. It honors his tireless
efforts and substantial achievements in building the excellence of graduate
education at Berkeley, including his support for international studies.
