Asian Immigrant Women Advocates works primarily with low-income Asian immigrant women employed as seamstresses, hotel room cleaners, nursing home aides, and electronics assemblers in the Bay Area and Santa Clara county. Current programs use literacy development, political education and leadership training to address health and environmental issues such as chemical safety and ergonomic workstations. A new workers' rights campaign is also under way. |
