Programs/ |
Arc Ecology's projects focus on U.S. Military activities, base closures, and toxics cleanup. Current projects include Military Brownfield remediation work amongst the Bay Area's 13,800 acres of military base closures; sustainable re-use for Hunters Point, Treasure Island, NAS Alameda and Mare Island; environmental justice and job creation among poor communities of color bordering military bases; as well as habitat, wetland, and recreational land restoration. Arc Ecology also helps organize the National Caucus of Restoration Advisory Board Community Members, a voluntary network of grassroots community advisors to the Department of Defense environmental cleanup program. Arc Ecology is also currently working on Military base pollution and social justice issues in the Philippines. |
