Greenaction's mission is to mobilize community power to win victories that change government and corporate policies to protect health and environment and promote environmental justice. Greenaction works to confront corporate polluters, fight the production and use of cancer-causing agents, and change government policy and practice surrounding environmental health by promoting solutions consistent with environmental, social and economic justice. |

Programs/ |
Recent Greenaction projects include: a campaign for renewable public power that is currently advocating for the closure of PG&E's Bayview Hunter's Point plant; the successful closure of a polluting medical waste incinerator in Oakland and continuing work on the cleanup and monitoring of the site; and a campaign in Oakland to reduce pollution from the Red Star Yeast/Lesaffre factory. Greenaction also supports efforts by Midway Village residents to fight energy-related toxic pollution. |
