Sadako Ogata: Institute of International Studies, UC Berkeley
On March 17, 1999, Chancellor Berdahl presented the Chancellor's Distinguished Honor Award to U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees Dr. Sadako Ogata, in honor of her distinguished achievements and visionary leadership as an advocate for humanitarian efforts worldwide.
The Chancellor's Distinguished Honor Award is intended for distinguished visitors whose presence honors Berkeley, and whose great achievements in their fields the University salutes.
