Ernst Haas is Robson Research Professor Emeritus of Government at UC Berkeley. He teaches in the fields of international relations, nationalism and international organizations. He has participated in many Institute activities, including the U.N. Action in a Disorderly World forum. Professor Haas received his B.S. and Ph.D. from Columbia University. His publications include When Knowledge is Power (1990), Why We Still Need the United Nations (1986), and Beyond the Nation-State (1964).
